Democrat Hypocricy (Grayson)
Today I am flying the 1st Navy Union Jack. Somewhere within the scope of Liberty, justice and equality should reside. Alan Grayson’s “apology” is proof Liberty is at risk today.
Last Tuesday night (Sept 29th, 2009), Alan Grayson took the floor of the House of Representatives. In short, he said, the Republican’s (Very Simple”) Health Care Plan only included the three following points: “(1) Don’t Get Sick, (2) …and if you do get sick, (3) Die Quickly“ If you have the stomach for it, you can see his “presentation” at Yahoo News.
From the Huffington Post: House Republicans called on Grayson to apologize; he did not. They quickly jumped on the remark, declaring deep offense.”That is about the most mean-spirited partisan statement that I’ve ever heard made on this floor, and I, for one, don’t appreciate it,” said Rep. Jimmy Duncan (R-Tenn.).”It’s fully appropriate that the gentleman return to the floor and apologize,” said Rep. Marsha Blackburn, another Tennessee Republican.
Remember Joe Wilson’s Apology? … anybody can “lose their temper” and “be passionate” on the floor of the house … just ask Joe Wilson. Wilson yelled, “You Lie” during a Obama’s speech when the President was lying about illegals “not” being covered by the Health Care bill. (See page 7 of this document, the section entitled “Exchange). Although Wilson was correct, immediately apologized, and this was accepted by the President. However he still was summarily rebuked by a resolution from the House … led by House Democrats. (Discussed Here)
Here’s Alan Grayson’s “Apology”:
Transcript from: Crooks & Liars:
Grayson: Last night here in this chamber I gave a speech. I’m not going to recount every single thing that I said, but I will point out that immediately after that speech, several Republicans asked me to apologize. Well, I would like to apologize. I would like to apologize to the dead. And here’s why. According to this study, “Health Insurance and Mortality in U.S. Adults” which was published two weeks ago, 44,789 Americans die every year because they have no health insurance. That’s right, 44,789 Americans die every year, according to this Harvard study called “Health Insurance and Mortality in U.S. Adults.” You can see it by going to our website, grayson.house.gov. That is more than ten times the number of Americans who have died in the war in Iraq.
Bottom Line(s)

Backwards and Wrong
1. The Math is backward. Lets do some math: In the USA last year, 2,426,264 people died. (data frm CDC.Com). Grayson said 44,789 Americans died who did not have health insurance.
- Let’s see now, 2,426,264 minus 44,789 … that equals 2,381,475.
- That means 2,381,475 people died who HAD Health Insurance.
- Conclusion: 44,000 people died because they didn’t have Health Insurance, 2.3 million people died because they did have Health Insurance. (Hey, if the logic works for him, it works for me!).
- Grayson should be apologizing, according to the math, to the 2,381,475 people who died “because” they had Health Insurance.
(Don’t you just hate the facts, the math, the logic?)
2. Only Republicans must Apologize. Why should any Republican ever apologize again? Grayson’s apology was not an apology to the House, he actually states that. So he refuses to apologize to the house. He is not censured by the House as Joe Wilson was. This tells us the following: Only Republicans have to apologize, Democrats do not.
(There’s that logical conclusion thing again!)

3. Nancy’s Fears and Tears. I thought Nancy Pelosi had this great “fear” that the rhetoric is becoming so abusive that it could cause major problems. I believe she even shed a tear or two on camera making the statement. But again, her “Fears and Tears” are only if Republicans (the conservative right) are involved. We don’t see any “Fears and Tears” from her on Grayson’s inflammatory remarks.
Nancy’s Fears and Tears: “I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words. We are a free country and this balance between freedom and safety is one that we have to carefully balance,” she said.
Also, remember how Pelosi was concerned about the “Angry Mob” out there “waiving swastikas ?” Grayson stated the Republican Plan compared to the Holocaust, where’s your outrage now over the Nazi slogans, Nancy? Pelosi says there is no reason for Grayson to apologize and there is no effort in the house to rebuke Grayson as Wilson was rebuked. The conclusion is simple … the Democrats can say anything they want on the House floor, inflammatory or not, but Republicans cannot. Simple.
(No hypocrisy showing here, move along folks!)
Conclusions: The Democrats can have it both ways, anytime they like. They don’t get “called” on it in the “state (Democrat) controlled” media that is blind to the hypocrisy.

Personal Note:
Did you vote for these people? (Grayson’s constituents in the Orlando, FL area should be proud today!). How can people continue to support a party that continues to display hypocrisy nearly every day, hypocrisy that can be documented so easily even in a “tiny” blog like this one?
- I was a Republican. I left the Republican Party because Lindsey Graham was calling himself a “conservative” in his primary advertisements. That was hypocrisy in its purest form, Graham is the epitome of a RINO, perhaps the poster child. He was running against Buddy Witherspoon, a REAL conservative. Graham won, the Republican party lost … me. I won’t stand for such hypocrisy in a party I support, why should you? (My Republican friends, who still are my friends, know this story). It was no surprise to them that I now only support Conservatives in thought, word and deed … and $$$.
- If you are a Democrat, you don’t have to continue to support what you are seeing unfold every day, just because you’ve always been a Democrat. The Democrat Party today is not the Democrat Party of yesteryear. The party has been taken over by radicals … and its time for the “Patriotic” Democrats to stand up and say “no” to what is going on today. Give it up, go support what YOU believe. I did, I know what I stand for .. I put it in this blog every day. What do you stand for?
Be a Patriot … do what is RIGHT for America!
