The Patriot's Flag

Today I am flying the Ft. Moultrie flag, a Patriot Flag I fly when there is “liberty-risky” discussion happening. And with the closed door negotiations going on between the Senate and the House over the Health Care bill … this is certainly just such a time.  The problem is we don’t know “how risky” the discussion is for “liberty.”  And we won’t until they roll out a bill that is full of socialism, big government, spending and probably other things we won’t figure out for years!

Lets talk about “transparency:”

SantaClaraUniv: Of course, transparency means that something can be seen through. When we talk about transparency in government, we mean that citizens must be able to “see through” its workings, to know exactly what goes on when public officials transact public business. Government that is not transparent is more prone to corruption and undue influence because there is no public oversight of decision making.

Obama’s own words using “transparency” (health care bill):

• Barack Obama: Information will not be withheld just because I say so; it will be withheld because a separate authority believes my request is well-grounded in the Constitution. Let me say it as simply as I can: TRANSPARENCY and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency.

• Recovery.gov (Obama’s page):What a change from outsourcing of jobs and covering up where money is going! President Obama expects transparency and responsibility in terms of where our money is going. We can keep track of the TRANSPARENCY through visiting Recovery.gov. The site will be updated frequently and will help us understand what is being done.

• PresidentObamaQuotes: President Obama has taken into account spending in the areas of health care, education, infrastructure, and renewable energy sources, all the while supporting cuts other folk have made to programs, including stopping irresponsible payments to clean up coal mines that have already been cleaned up. Our President is seeking fiscal responsibility and TRANSPARENCY and is not going to hide the cost of war any longer, or tolerate shady spending.

• PresidentObamaQuotes: President Obama is focusing on all of the things that undergird our economy, from education, to health care, to green energy. He is asking the government to operate with a level of TRANSPARENCY not seen in our lifetime.
  • By the way … go to the PresidentObamaQuotes site and search for “transparency” … too many instances to post here. This website is “so proud” of the New President … I’m betting they’ll take some of their information down because if you want to see the lies … go and look.  This is a perfect example of a “Hope and Change” website … such ignorance!
    

• Candidate Barack Obama: “When I’m elected president you’re going to see this health care legislation written in the open. It’s going to be on C-SPAN, and you’ll be able to see all the different people arguing to see whether they’re on your side or they’re on the side of the drug companies and the insurance companies and so on. But you’ll be able to see that process on C-SPAN.”

In his own words …. “...Shame is a healthy discussion.” If so, then we need a “healthy discussion” right now with this president discussing the “shame” he should feel for lying to everyone, over and over. Based on the actual truth of circumstances you see happening right now, you will hardly believe what you will see here:

CBSNews: C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb sent a letter to congressional leaders last week, asking that they “open all important negotiations, including any conference committee meetings, to electronic media coverage. Many of your rank-and-file members, and the nation’s editorial pages have all talked about the value of transparent discussions on reforming the nation’s health care system,” , Lamb said in the letter, which was sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). “Now that the process moves to the critical stage of reconciliation between the Chambers, we respectfully request that you allow the public full access, through television, to legislation that will affect the lives of every single American.”

… and from Harry Reid’s Office:

―Senator Reid appreciates C-SPAN‘s commitment to ensuring transparency and we will continue to fully comply with the longstanding precedents of open access to the work of Congress. ―The drafting of this health insurance reform bill has set new standards for transparency. As the C-SPAN letter states, there have been ‗literally hundreds of hours of committee hearings, mark ups and floor debate on these bills‘ – and every one of those hours was broadcast across the country. (Actually Harry is correct, the drafting of this health care bill has set new standards in transparency … I don’t know how the standards could be lower! … these are BREATHTAKING lies … absolutely amazing.

… and the result?

The result is Democrats huddled behind closed doors in “smoky” rooms seaming together the House and Senate versions of the Health Care bill which will give “who knows what” to “who knows who?”  With the Louisiana Purchase, and Ben Nelson’s payoff … we can expect a great deal more corruption to be woven into this bill before it is finished. All of this is being done in secrecy … exactly the OPPOSITE of what President Obama promised.

So President Barack Hussein Obama lied.

Obama's Style of Transparency

The Democrats in Congress and the White House are now confirmed liars. They want nothing for the country, only continued increased power for themselves … creating a government that will trend toward keeping them in power because of the “dependence” of the apathetic and ignorant voters among us. With the payoffs we seen, and those happening that we cannot see … because of the LACK of Transparency … this is the most corrupt congress and administration I have ever seen. Regardless of the outcome, the “Health Care” bill will forever be a corrupt piece of back-room created legislation forever hated by every red-blooded American who “understands” the corruption we are watching during its creation.
