From last night’s State of the Union address:

“I’ve called for a bipartisan fiscal commission… Yesterday, the Senate blocked a bill that would have created this commission. So I will issue an executive order that will allow us to go forward…”

The United Senate blocked a bill that Obama wanted. No problem! It looks like Obama will now govern by fiat. Anytime he doesn’t get his way in Congress he will simply issue an Executive Order to by-pass Congress.

“Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections. Well, I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong.”

Uhmmm… didn’t the Court just overturn that portion of McCain-Feingold as unconstitutional? I also know McCain is old but I didn’t realize his bill has been in effect for a century. No matter. Obama will simply get another bill with the same unconstitutional provisions passed. Maybe this new bill can be called Feingold-McCain and that will make it okay with the Justices?

Obviously, when told “No” by the co-equal branches of government Obama just replies, “No problem!”
