Today I am still flying the Sons of Liberty 9 Bar Patriot Flag. A flag I fly when Liberty is Lost. The following is an Indianapolis doctor’s letter to Sen. Bayh about the Health Care Bill. Dr. Stephen E. Fraser, MD practices as an anesthesiologist in Indianapolis, IN . Here is a letter he sent to Senator Bayh … look closely at the points in it, many will seem unbelievable … and now it’s the “law of the land.” Thank you Socialist Democrats.
A Doctor’s Letter To Senator Bayh
Senator Bayh,
As a practicing physician I have major concerns with the health care bill before Congress. I actually have read the bill and am shocked by the brazenness of the government’s proposed involvement in the patient-physician relationship. The very idea that the government will dictate and ration patient care is dangerous and certainly not helpful in designing a health care system that works for all. Every physician I work with agrees that we need to fix our health care system, but the proposed bills currently making their way through congress will be a disaster if passed.
I ask you respectfully and as a patriotic American to look at the following troubling lines that I have read in the bill. You cannot possibly believe that these proposals are in the best interests of the country and our fellow citizens.
- Page 22 of the HC Bill: Mandates that the Govt will audit books of all employers that self-insure!!
- Page 30 Sec 123 of HC bill: THERE WILL BE A GOVT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get.
- Page 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill: YOUR HEALTH CARE IS RATIONED!!!
- Page 42 of HC Bill: The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC benefits for you. You have no choice!
- Page 50 Section 152 in HC bill: HC will be provided to ALL non-US citizens, illegal or otherwise.
- Page 58 HC Bill: Govt will have real-time access to individuals’ finances & a ‘National ID Health card’ will be issued! (Papers please!)
- Page 59 HC Bill lines 21-24: Govt will have direct access to your bank accounts for elective funds transfer. (Time for more cash and carry)
- Page 65 Sec 164: Is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in unions & community organizations: (ACORN).
- Page 84 Sec 203 HC bill: Govt mandates ALL benefit packages for private HC plans in the ‘Exchange.’

- Page 427 Lines 15-24: The Govt mandates a program for orders on “end-of-life.” (The Govt has a say in how your life ends!)
- Page 429 Lines 1-9: An “advanced-care planning consultant” will be used frequently as a patient’s health deteriorates.
- Page 429 Lines 10-12: An “advanced care consultation” may include an ORDER for end-of-life plans.. (AN ORDER TO DIE FROM THE GOVERNMENT?!?)
- Page 429 Lines 13-25: The GOVT will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order.. (I wouldn’t want to stand before God after getting paid for THAT job!)
- Page 430 Lines 11-15: The Govt will decide what level of treatment you will have at end-of-life! (Again — no choice!)
- Page 469: Community-Based Home Medical Services = Non-Profit Organizations. (Hello? ACORN Medical Services here!?!)
- Page 489 Sec 1308: The Govt will cover marriage and family therapy. (Which means Govt will insert itself into your marriage even.)
- Page 494-498: Govt will cover Mental Health Services including defining, creating, and rationing those services.
Senator, I guarantee that I personally will do everything possible to inform patients and my fellow physicians about the dangers of the proposed bills you and your colleagues are debating.
Furthermore, if you vote for a bill that enforces socialized medicine on the country and destroys the doctor-patient relationship, I will do everythingin my power to make sure you lose your job in the next election.

The Bottom Line
The Frightening Truths about the Obamacare bill are outlined in the Doctor’s letter. If some of these don’t keep you awake at night, then you simply are not paying attention.
Key Provisions Missing: And now we are discovering some of Obama’s “key points” like immediate health care for children with pre-existing conditions isn’t actually in the bill. And we discover that the IRS will be the “police” force that makes sure employers and citizens are BUYING the health care … and if not, will be in charge of collecting the fines. And to do this, it will take 17,000 new IRS employees at $10,000,000 a year … but it is not “funded” in the legislation. Oops!
Poorly Written and destined to be even more Poorly Executed. How can we expect a government that watched Medicare FAIL, The US Post Office FAIL, Medicaid FAIL, Freddie and Fannie FAIL, Social Security FAIL … and on and on .. how could we expect this same government to get Health Care right? This is a new height of absurdity. This was a poorly written piece of legislation, written by a bunch of socialist democrat staffers and rammed through by the radicals that are running our government. It had nothing to do with health care, it had to do with “finally controlling the people” as Mr. Dingell pointed out.
We’ll find more “items” as we learn more about the bill and I will post them below. And not one person voting for this is being forced to use it themselves … its only for “the people” … not “the government.”

A requirement tucked into the nation’s massive health care bill will make calorie counts impossible for thousands of restaurants to hide and difficult for consumers to ignore. More than 200,000 fast food and other chain restaurants will have to include calorie counts on menus, menu boards and even drive-throught.
The new law, which applies to any restaurant with 20 or more locations, directs the Food and Drug Administration to create a new national standard for menu labeling, superseding a growing number of state and city laws. President Barack Obama was expected to sign the health care legislation Tuesday.
The idea is to make sure that customers process the calorie information as they are ordering. Many restaurants currently post nutritional information in a hallway, on a hamburger wrapper or on their Web site. The new law will make calories immediately available for most items.
“The nutrition information is right on the menu or menu board next to the name of the menu item, rather than in a pamphlet or in tiny print on a poster, so that consumers can see it when they are making ordering decisions,” says Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin, chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, who wrote the provision.

~ Causes 9 million people to lose the insurance they now have;
~ Increases the already bloated deficit by $260 billion over the next decade when all the components are included;
~ Adds $371 billion to the deficit by not including the Medicare physician fee schedule change, also known as the “Doc Fix” provision;
~ Raises taxes by $569 billion on small businesses and creates a new marriage penalty with new income and investment taxes;
~ Cuts Medicare by $523 billion; Increases premiums by 10% for people without employer-based insurance;
~ Expands the power of the IRS to enforce a government mandate that requires Americans to purchase government-approved insurance;
~ After all the spending is done and the bill is fully implemented, 23 million people will still be uninsured in 2019.

Since the President signed the Senate health care bill into law on Tuesday, I have received numerous calls and e-mails from my constituents asking, “What does this bill mean for me?” and “What’s next?” While it remains unclear how many of the provisions in the 2400 page bill and its 150 page companion, the so-called “Reconciliation Bill,” will be implemented, I wanted to provide you with a timeline of some of the changes you can expect over the next few years.
The greatest immediate change is that individuals with preexisting conditions will be able to purchase health care coverage without risk of being denied or cancelled. This was a goal of all the alternative legislative proposals.
A $2.3 billion tax on all prescription drugs begins immediately. On July 1, 2010, a new 10 percent tax on indoor tanning services begins.
Six months from now, unmarried adult children 26 and under can stay on their parents’ health insurance plans.
Starting this year and continuing in 2011, substantial cuts will be made to Medicare. Overall, $530 billion will be cut from Medicare over the next ten years. This is of great concern to me, as many of my constituents already have difficulty in finding Medicare providers to care for them. Additionally, this will restrict and/or eliminate the Medicare Advantage program, affecting over 41,000 seniors in my district alone. Moreover, the bill does not address the physician reimbursement issue (so-called “doc fix”). Under existing law, reimbursement rates for Medicare providers would be cut by 20 percent or more on March 31, 2010.
One aspect of the health care bill that has not been adequately considered relates to its impact on the number of doctors who will be necessary to provide care for the newly insured. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that 46 percent of the country’s primary care physicians indicated they would leave the practice of medicine altogether if Congress passed the proposed health care overhaul bill.
In 2011, Medicaid eligibility will be expanded. The chief deputy director for California’s Medicaid health care programs estimates that this will cost California’s state government an additional $2 to $3 billion per year. At the same time, the rate of reimbursement for services under Medicaid is even lower than for Medicare – in many cases considerably less than what it actually costs physicians to perform those services. As a result, providers are increasingly reluctant to take Medicaid patients. Enrolling more patients under a program that is already overburdened will likely lead to longer wait times and rationing of care. Access to “coverage” does not necessarily equal access to care.
In 2013, a new 2.3 percent tax will be imposed on medical devices, including wheelchairs, artificial hips and knees, crutches, scalpels, stethoscopes, and hospital beds. The tax will total $20 billion over 10 years. The nonpartisan Congressional Research Service notes that, “For ordinary medical devices with many producers, the tax should be fully passed on to consumers, although some of the cost, depending on the device, will be paid by insurers and lead to higher insurance payments, still ultimately falling on consumers.” I am thus concerned that taxing medical devices will be passed on to patients and adversely affect health care innovation.
Beginning in 2014, government-run health insurance exchanges will be created and the requirement that all individuals are enrolled in a health insurance plan is implemented. Ironically, while this bill was touted as “health insurance reform,” insurance companies participating in the exchanges will be the recipients of $460 billion in refundable tax credits. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that health insurance premiums could go up as much as 27 to 30 percent for those purchasing insurance under the government-created exchanges. Americans who do not qualify for subsidies yet who are unable to afford health care coverage will be faced with additional civil penalties for noncompliance with the new federal mandate to purchase coverage.
Also in 2014, employers who do not offer health benefits approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services must pay a fine of $3,000 per employee. This amount is reduced to $2,000 per person if all employees in the company are moved to the government-run exchange. A recent article in the Wall Street Journal highlights some of the problems with the employer tax penalties in the bill. For example, the Caterpillar company said the bill would cost the company $100 million or more in the first year alone. Far from being a “job creator,” this bill is likely to lead to lay-offs. The employer provisions under the bill are of concern to me, as unemployment in some areas of my district is already 15 percent. Penalizing employers at a time when new jobs are so desperately needed will only make it more difficult for Americans to recover from the economic crisis.
This is only a small taste of the changes that can be expected under the recently enacted health care overhaul law. As I receive more details regarding implementation of the bill, I will share that information with you. Next week I will answer the question, “What now?”

Isn’t this nice. If you are of the Muslim religion, you don’t have to give all the new Obamacare healthcare reform regulations and penalties another thought. Because the concept of being compelled to participate in such a healthcare program offends Islamic sensibilities, Muslims are specifically exempt.
As a matter of fact if you are Amish, American Indian or a Chistian Scientist you do not need to participate or pay the taxes associated with healthcare reform. That means not having to be forced to buy healthcare insurance, not paying the taxes or the penalties if you don’t get it. Nice! Read More
