Drill Now – Nothing but Noise
Today I am flying the 1st Navy Union Jack, a flag I fly when the blog is about Liberty threatened. Obama is now in favor of “off shore drilling.” This, even though during his campaign he promised the Left he would “ban it” and did immediately. Now he has changed is mind … or has he?
His ability to maintain any approval ratings at all is amazing. Few politicians could “renig” on so many campaign promises and still be “believable.” He is demonstrating a tactic he was taught at an early age in Muslim-orientated schools in Indonesia and later by his Alynski-driven mentors. The tactic continues to work fairly well getting past the main stream media with ease. To get what you want, it is OK to lie.

Rule #4: The Alinsky Primer: The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.” This means that they must find any way to publicize the missteps of their opponents. Call the TV stations, write the newspapers, write nasty things in blogs. Attack the person, if you must. Lie, spin, twist. It’s all fair.

Obama’s drill now speech was nothing but noise. The only significant point from it was that he renigged again on another campaign promise. And we can easily prove that in his own words.
The Bottom Line
He was more credible with this ridiculous line: “Putting more air in the tires would reduce the need for drilling.”
Nothing but Noise was gained from his media-hyped “Drill Now” speech. You tell people you are for it but you you know it simply will not work. You slant the data to prove what you are proposing will not work. (Quantity of oil in USA). The result is all to similar to voting “present” in Illinois. But he can now say he is ‘for drilling’ because his TelePrompTer told him so. What kind of “leadership” is that? It’s the leadership you see promoting ideology, not promoting your country. All he is doing is giving an environmental head fake to set up Cap and Trade. The “drill now” speech was the same old “shame on America” and “we have to go green” rhetoric and in the end is “Nothing but Noise.”

In fact, if anything, the policies announced by President Obama yesterday will actually decrease and delay future U.S. oil production. The President actually canceled four lease sales off the Alaska coast that were planned to begin producing oil within the next two years, delayed a planned lease off Virginia until at least 2012, and placed some areas off limits for at least seven years. Go back and look at President Obama’s actual announcement again: he only promised new exploration off the Atlantic coast. There is absolutely no guarantee that any new drilling will ever occur. Secretary Ken Salazar’s Interior Department still has full discretion to never allow a single drop of oil to be harvested from these waters. And that doesn’t even begin to address the court challenges the enviro-left will employ to attack and delay the entire process.
