The Patriot's Flag

Today I’m flying the Gadsden Flag, the Patriot Flag I fly when the subject of the blog is Tea Party related.  Over and over, ad nauseum in the media, we are asked “What do the Tea Party People Stand for?” Or worse, they (the media) tell us we stand for racism and bigotry and anything else derogatory they can conceive ….

The video below explains very well why we march, why we write our blogs, why we would fly a Patriot Flag off the front porch.  You do not need to turn up the sound for the video, and you can follow along with the text that I provide.  If you were looking for a reason to “get active” … the video gives you a “to do” list that will certainly keep you busy between now and the November 2010 election.

An Open Letter to Democrat Politicians
January 2010

On November 4, 2008 We gave you power, in the house. In the senate and the oval office. We voted for hope. We voted for change.  Balance would be restored. Our world would be safer. Our families would be stronger. Our future would be brighter. We trusted you. so we elected you.

We regret it.

So in 2010 you will loose big. No more taxes. No more spending. No more socialism. We tried to warn you but you wouldn’t listen. So now you will pay.

Why?   Freedom!

• You are a threat to our economy health care individual liberties
• you bet the farm government takeovers [ like GM and Chrysler Freddie and Fannie]
  
• bailouts liberal policies,
  • tarp $700 billion
  • Federal Stimulus $1.2 Trillion,
  • Federal reserve rescue $6.4 trillion,
• Tax. Spend. Redistribute. We’re broke!
• 10% unemployment (something you call the new “norm”)
  
• And now you want our Health care? Taken over by
  
  • Backroom deals,
    
  • Payoffs.
  • Blatant and shameless BRIBES.

We’ve had enough. We’re taking our country back. From Radicals, from leftists and liberals. We’re coming after YOU.

Anger? And they wonder why we are “angry” and “anti-government” … our anger is because “this” government is trying to change our country from the greatness it has been to the status of all the rest of the third world countries. And I hear people saying we are “anti-government.” (I’m amazed we continue to deny it.) We are anti-government, anti THIS government. We do not like what THIS government is doing to our country. And many of us are trying to do something about it.

The Tea Party The video and text clearly define our anger.  What is happening is not far astray from the tyranny we threw off at the original Tea Party … unfair taxes that benefit “other people” not those paying the taxes.  The liberals and leftists that would like to have this video removed from YouTube want it removed because they cannot face opposition in any form … especially when the form of facts.  But for those who view the video and agree with it, then there is a place for you, and that is the Tea Party movement.  We are not the “radicals” the Alynskiites and main stream media would have you believe.  These two entities brought you Obama … so they were wrong before, weren’t they!? If you agree with the video, then join us in saving the country from the greatest threat in its history.

Moderate Democrats. I would hope the video also defines the anger of not just Tea Party participants, but the increasing anger of moderate Democrats who have had their party stolen from them … they should be joining the Tea Party in droves to also stop what is happening.  If I were a moderate Democrat, I would be fighting to take my party back from these radicals. This is giving the Democrat party a “name” they will have to live with forever … “The Socialist, Tax and Redistribute Party.”  (I left the Republican Party for far less of a reason!).  Joining the Tea Party doesn’t mean you are joining the Republican Party, it means you are for what the Tea Party Stands for:

Tea Party Mission Statement

The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.

Tea Party Core Values

• Fiscal Responsibility: Fiscal Responsibility by government honors and respects the freedom of the individual to spend the money that is the fruit of their own labor. A constitutionally limited government, designed to protect the blessings of liberty, must be fiscally responsible or it must subject its citizenry to high levels of taxation that unjustly restrict the liberty our Constitution was designed to protect. Such runaway deficit spending as we now see in Washington D.C. compels us to take action as the increasing national debt is a grave threat to our national sovereignty and the personal and economic liberty of future generations.
• Constitutionally Limited Government: We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land. We believe that it is possible to know the original intent of the government our founders set forth, and stand in support of that intent. Like the founders, we support states’ rights for those powers not expressly stated in the Constitution. As the government is of the people, by the people and for the people, in all other matters we support the personal liberty of the individual, within the rule of law.
• Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government’s interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business.

Who are you? If you are a person who believes this government has gone too far and is moving our country toward Socialism, then you need to get involved and help CHANGE the direction.  If you are a Democrat and woke up to see that your party has been hijacked by a bunch of “Pentagon-bombing Radicals” … hopefully you will be angry enough to get involved so you can get your Party back.

Do Something! If you are one of the two groups above, then you have nowhere to go. The Republican Party has “allowed” this to happen and the Democrat Party has been hijacked to make it happen. Being a Republican or a Democrat today makes no sense at all … as by doing so, you are encouraging the behavior that got us to this  precipice. But you can become a part of the “Not so Silent Majority” that is hell-bent on taking this country back.  We have no leaders, we have a single agenda (listed above in mission and core values) and we welcome every one who agrees it is time for change … BACK!  We must STOP what is happening.
