Buy the Vote! Recovery Summer?
Today I am flying the Sons of Liberty Flag, the patriot flag I fly when liberty and freedom is lost. In the Federalists Papers, we were warned that money should not go to a central government because the funds would be used to “buy votes” and consolidate power. Today, we have the perfect example of that prediction coming true.
Obama and Biden have announced “Recovery Summer.” A six-weeks’ long campaign designed to stimulate the economy and prove that we are on our way “back.” But wait, six weeks before the election???? What’s with that? Why wasn’t this done in February, or last January … why now?

Vice President Joe Biden today will kick off the Obama administration’s “Recovery Summer,” a six-week-long push designed to highlight the jobs accompanying a surge in stimulus-funded projects to improve highways, parks, drinking water and other public works.
The vice president on Thursday will present Obama with a report laying out a spike in stimulus activity this summer, and how it will contribute to a steady climb to a total of 3.5 million Recovery Act jobs by the end of the year. Highlights:
- “Transportation: There will be six times as many highway projects underway in July 2010 as in July 2009 – projects will surge from 1,750 last summer to over 10,000 this summer. And while last summer we improved about 9,000 miles of highway, this summer we’ll improve over 30,000 miles – that’s the equivalent of ten cross-country road trips on improved highways.
- “Clean and Drinking Water: This summer over 3,000 clean and drinking water projects will have started versus just over 100 last summer – that’s nearly 30 times as many.
- “Home Weatherization: This summer, we’ll weatherize 82,000 homes versus 3,000 last summer – that’s 27 times as many homes this summer as last.

Bottom Line
Sounds great? That’s the plan, gotcha!
Using public funds to “swing” votes is basically illegal … but not in Washington, D.C. … just everywhere else. When TARP (Stimulus) was first proposed, we were railroaded into believing we had not choice but to support this mega-spending project to “save the economy” of the USA. We have since learned it had no effect on the economy. There were early suspicions that the powers in Washington would use these funds to promote themselves and solidify their power by “putting the money where it would bring in supporting votes.” This potential problem was clearly outlined in the Federalists Papers and the result was predicted.
The Federalists Papers (#36) point out that if number of people represented by a delegate were to become too great, then the INDIVIDUAL’s power to control the delegate would become diluted. Because of this, the delegate would be LESS controlled by the individual and the delegate would have immense public funds to distribute, and therefore able to use public funds in ways not necessarily supported by an INDIVIDUAL.
The framers of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights intended that the total population of Congressional districts never exceed 50 to 60 thousand. Currently, the average population size of the districts is nearly 700,000 and, consequently, the principle of proportionally equitable representation has been abandoned. The historical trend relative to our federal Representation is illustrated in the charts below. The vertical bar chart illustrates that the total number of congressional districts was increased every ten years from 1790 to 1910 (with a single exception). These increases were a direct result of the growth in total population as was intended by the framers of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
TARP (A suspicious slush fund?)
The political conspiracy theorists had a ball with this one … “the administration will use the money to swing votes.” But also nobody believed they’d really do that, we REALLY needed to stimulate the economy! But then a little later, the money wasn’t spent … what’s with that? I thought we needed to spend it to stimulate jobs … but alas we didn’t spend it and the jobless rate remains at 10% (what we are now told is the “new norm” for unemployment. Now, SIX WEEKS before the election … here comes the money! And the whole team, Obama, Biden and 5 top officials are spreading out across the country to herald the news. SIX WEEKS BEFORE THE ELECTION!
Transparency and Accessibility
- Transparency: We were promised “transparency in government” … boy we got it, didn’t we? Now we can clearly see that the “stimulus” was nothing but a slush fund to get votes. It’s not a “theory” any more … it is right there for us to SEE. Isn’t transparency wonderful … you don’t have to wonder if they are crooks … they prove it for you.
- Accessibility: The funds only become visibly “available” just before an election.
A Practical Point? Timing!
They are going to build a bridge somewhere. Have you ever seen anybody build a bridge. What is accomplished in the first six weeks? The “Flag Fairy” comes and puts little flags out that shows where the gas lines are. And that will probably take most of the SIX WEEKS … can’t dig a hole till the little flags are there. Did you ever watch a highway being built? How many “miles” (sorry) FEET of road was built in SIX WEEKS? People see these headlines and go to these rallies and “hear the words” about what is going to happen … and after they have “voted” … the projects will not have taken on any more speed than they have since TARP was passed.
SIX WEEKS before the 2010 Election, we are having a kickoff of millions of dollars worth of projects … projects that are in key swing vote areas where votes could be “swayed” by the start-up of projects. Why wasn’t this done last January, or maybe in March? Why SIX WEEKS before the election?

The TARP (Stimulus) Money is a Political Slush Fund spent to garner votes and solidify power.
