Blago and Obama
Did Obama and Blagojevich have a discussion about the Senate Seat in Illinois? We will probably never know. To “know” would mean we would have to be privy to the “inside track” of Chicago politics … a circle where we, as outsiders, are not welcome, and a circle in which a form of Omerta exists. The political danger is not an “old-time hit” … you just get “thrown under the bus.” Same result … “fino!” It is done quickly, seemingly with little effort … but it is done. Here’s how you do it …
Obama’s Key Statement:
“Well, one question: “I had no contact with the governor or his office, so I was not aware of what was happening.”
This statement in the “circulated email” cannot be confirmed:
Barack Obama Supposedly Said: “I only saw Rod Blagojevich one time … and that was in the stands and from a distance at a Chicago Bears Football Game.”
- So be careful with the “email” you might receive showing these pictures and attributing them to the [probably] false statement above.
Axelrod said there was a discussion:
Axelrod said, “I know he’s talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.”
We can establish a Personal Relationship: However, we can surmise quickly from the pictures that there was a personal relationship between Obama and Blagojevich. With the overall lack of credibility of both men, it is easy for one to surmise they [probably] talked about the Senate seat. Denying that any such conversation took place is difficult for most people to swallow when they dare to fathom Chicago politics and see actual pictures of a “distanced” relationship.
Let’s allow the pictures to do the “talking:”

Do you think they “knew” each other well-enough to have a “discussion” about the Senate seat? Pictures are worth thousands of words, so I’ll say no more here.
