Øbama is Banning the Bullets

August 25th, 2010

UPDATE: CONGRATULATIONS ALL … THE EPA HAS NOW REJECTED THE PETITION (THAT THEY HAD ORIGINALLY ACCEPTED AND POSTED). THEIR SUBSEQUENT (AND “UNEXPECTED”) REJECTION IS PROOF THAT VIGILANCE AND ACTION CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

NRA 2 days later: Responding to a grassroots outcry from gun owners, the Environmental Protection Agency today announced that it has denied a petition by the Center for Biological Diversity and other radical groups that had sought to ban the use of lead in ammunition.

I”LL LEAVE THIS POST INTACT AS AN EXAMPLE of GRASSROOTS ACTION:

Original Post Starts Here

Once again, the Øbama Administration is making another stealth move for circumventing the 2nd Amendment against the will of the American People. It is time to S.T.O.P. this nonsense once and for all, the EPA is the tool he is using again, this time to ban “lead” bullets … which are the ONLY kind that are affordable and legal. There is an actual petition that is now “ready for comment”. All of us need to take this opportunity to give them the “comments” they deserve.  Below is the information you will need to (1) Understand the Problem, (2) Look at the Causes and (3) take action to S.T.Ø.P. it!

1. THE PROBLEM

WARNING: TODAY, AUGUST 25, 2010, THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA) HAS OPENED TO PUBLIC COMMENT  ON THE CBD* PETITION THE COMMENT PERIOD ENDS ON OCTOBER 31, 2010.  IF THERE WAS EVER A TIME TO SUBMIT YOUR COMMENT, THAT TIME IS NOW!

Now, the Øbama Administration are attempting to ban lead bullets. Copper is not a viable alternative because of the expense and materials other than lead are already banned as they are considered “armor-piercing”. If this passes, “sports shooting” as we know it will be basically “outlawed” in the USA. This is another not-so-stealthy attack on the 2nd Amendment. And remember, the EPA was set up by the RINO Richard Nixon. This is just more proof that anything with a RINO label on it is actually a progressive idea in sheep’s clothing.

2. THE CAUSES OF THE PROBLEM

* CBD What is the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD)?

Mission ... At the Center for Biological Diversity, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature — to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law, and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters, and climate that species need to survive. We want those who come after us to inherit a world where the wild is still alive.

Patriot’s Flag Comment: Yes, it’s a bunch of lib do-gooders out once again to “save the world” from those of us who would like to LIVE in it! And once again a tiny MINORITY of people are trying to dictate the behavior of the MAJORITY.  Time to slap them down! (Again!)

The Environmental Protection Agency,  Øbama’s tool for skirting the will of the American People is simply out of control, here are three recent examples:

3. ACTION NEEDED TO S.T.Ø.P. THE PROBLEM

Here is the official “heads up” from the National Shooting Sports Foundation:

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF)The trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry — urges you to submit comment to the EPA opposing any ban on traditional ammunition. Remember, your right to choose the ammunition you hunt and shoot with is at stake. The EPA has published the petition and relevant supplemental information as Docket ID: EPA-HQ-OPPT-2010-0681. If you would like to read the original petition and see the contents of this docket folder, please click here. In order to go directly to the ‘submit a comment’ page for this docket number, please click here.

STEPS TO TAKE: (Info from National Shooting Sports Assn)

1. Submit comment online to the EPA. (see further instructions below **)

2. Contact Lisa Jackson directly to voice your opposition to the ban:

Lisa P. Jackson
Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Fax: (202) 501-1450
Email: jackson.lisa@epa.gov

3. Contact your congressman and senators and urge them to stop the EPA from banning ammunition. To view a sample letter, click here.

4. (Patriot’s Flag Addendum: This may also be an excellent time to JOIN the NSSF … LINK HERE)

** Note: When you submit your comment, you will be faced with an intimidating entry table suggesting you must be a government agency … just fill out out similar to how I did it. I used “The Patriot’s Flag” for my organization, but you could put in the name of your Tea Party Group, your bridge club or any other “organization” which you “represent.”

Also, if you would like to put a space between your paragraphs so they don’t all run together, insert <P> where you want a paragraph break. Example:

Dear Sir or Madam …

Updates

Fox News: The Environmental Protection Agency has denied a petition filed by environmental activists seeking to ban lead in ammunition and fishing tackle, saying such regulation is beyond the agency’s authority. The agency’s decision, announced Friday shortly after FoxNews.com published its report on the issue, sided with hunters and fishermen who had argued that the such regulations weren’t allowed under the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976. “EPA is taking action on many fronts to address major sources of lead in our society, such as eliminating childhood exposures to lead,” the agency said in a written statement. “However, EPA was not and is not considering taking action on whether the lead content in hunting ammunition poses an undue threat to wildlife.”

Washington Times (08.27.10) The Supreme Court‘s recent McDonald and Heller decisions have thus far thwarted the gun grabbers’ best efforts by upholding the individual’s right to own firearms. Late Friday, the Environmental Protection Agency added another victory to the list as it shot down an attempt to undermine the Second Amendment through the regulation of bullets. On Aug. 3, the American Bird Conservancy and groups like Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility petitioned the Environmental Protection Agency to ban traditional lead ammunition as a “health risk.”

US News: In a swift and unexpected decision, the Environmental Protection Agency today rejected a petition from environmental groups to ban the use of lead in bullets and shotgun shells, claiming it doesn’t have jurisdiction to weigh on the controversial Second Amendment issue. The decision came just hours after the Drudge Report posted stories from Washington Whispers and the Weekly Standard about how gun groups were fighting the lead bullet ban. The EPA had planned to solicit public responses to the petition for two months, but this afternoon issued a statement rejecting a 100-page request from the Center for Biological Diversity, the American Bird Conservancy, and three other groups for a ban on lead bullets, shot, and fishing sinkers. The agency is still considering what to do about sinkers.

Update – Still Watching the EPA’s Comment Link:

However, even with this “rejection” note the following:

  • As of 9:05pm 8/27/10, the Petition is still there and did refer to AMMUNITION COMPONENTS
  • CLICK HERE to see if link is “pulled”
  • . . . As of August 29th at 9:55 AM EST, the link was still active!
  • We can only believe what the DO, not what they SAY. It may be “rejected”, but it is still THERE!

The “Tar Baby Mosque”

August 20th, 2010

IT IS FASCINATING to watch people walk up to Ground Zero Mosque Issue and take a verbal swing at it … only to get stuck to it forever.  If there was ever a time to “dodge” an explosive political issue, the Ground Zero mosque is that time. But, amazingly, people have weighed in on the controversy and now they are “stuck” to the issue forever.  Obama’s comments lecturing us on a Friday night that “people have the right to worship anywhere” (duh, I didn’t know that, did you?) and now Pelosi jumping in to “investigate the funding for people who are against the GZ Mosque.”  And while they try to “educate us” … it seems they missed a lesson from long ago. It simply shows these folks ‘jis ain’t to smart’ as they think … ‘Ol Uncle Remus could have taught them a thing or two.

Go to ‘da List – doz who be fo’ o ‘genst

From the Uncle Remus Bookstore

“DIDN’T the fox never catch the rabbit, Uncle Remus?” asked the little boy the next evening.

“He come mighty nigh it, honey, sho’s you born—Brer Fox did. One day atter Brer Rabbit fool ’im wid dat calamus root, Brer Fox went ter wuk en got ’im some tar, en mix it wid some turkentime, en fix up a contrapshun w’at he call a Tar-Baby, en he tuck dish yer Tar-Baby en he sot ’er in de big road, en den he lay off in de bushes fer to see what de news wuz gwine ter be. En he didn’t hatter wait long, nudder, kaze bimeby here come Brer Rabbit pacin’ down de road—lippity-clippity, clippity -lippity—dez ez sassy ez a jay-bird. Brer Fox, he lay low. Brer Rabbit come prancin’ ’long twel he spy de Tar-Baby, en den he fotch up on his behime legs like he wuz ’stonished. De Tar Baby, she sot dar, she did, en Brer Fox, he lay low.

“‘Mawnin’!’ sez Brer Rabbit, sezee—‘nice wedder dis mawnin’,’ sezee.

“Tar-Baby ain’t sayin’ nuthin’, en Brer Fox he lay low.

“‘How duz yo’ sym’tums seem ter segashuate?’ sez Brer Rabbit, sezee.

“Brer Fox, he wink his eye slow, en lay low, en de Tar-Baby, she ain’t sayin’ nuthin’.

“‘How you come on, den? Is you deaf?’ sez Brer Rabbit, sezee. ‘Kaze if you is, I kin holler louder,’ sezee.

“Tar-Baby stay still, en Brer Fox, he lay low.

“‘You er stuck up, dat’s w’at you is,’ says Brer Rabbit, sezee, ‘en I’m gwine ter kyore you, dat’s w’at I’m a gwine ter do,’ sezee.

“Brer Fox, he sorter chuckle in his stummick, he did, but Tar-Baby ain’t sayin’ nothin’.

“‘I’m gwine ter larn you how ter talk ter ’spectubble folks ef hit’s de las’ ack,’ sez Brer Rabbit, sezee. ‘Ef you don’t take off dat hat en tell me howdy, I’m gwine ter bus’ you wide open,’ sezee.

“Tar-Baby stay still, en Brer Fox, he lay low.

“Brer Rabbit keep on axin’ ’im, en de Tar-Baby, she keep on sayin’ nothin’, twel present’y Brer Rabbit draw back wid his fis’, he did, en blip he tuck ’er side er de head. Right dar’s whar he broke his merlasses jug. His fis’ stuck, en he can’t pull loose. De tar hilt ’im. But Tar-Baby, she stay still, en Brer Fox, he lay low.

“‘Ef you don’t lemme loose, I’ll knock you agin,’ sez Brer Rabbit, sezee, en wid dat he fotch ’er a wipe wid de udder han’, en dat stuck. Tar-Baby, she ain’y sayin’ nuthin’, en Brer Fox, he lay low.

“‘Tu’n me loose, fo’ I kick de natal stuffin’ outen you,’ sez Brer Rabbit, sezee, but de Tar-Baby, she ain’t sayin’ nuthin’. She des hilt on, en de Brer Rabbit lose de use er his feet in de same way. Brer Fox, he lay low. Den Brer Rabbit squall out dat ef de Tar-Baby don’t tu’n ’im loose he butt ’er cranksided. En den he butted, en his head got stuck. Den Brer Fox, he sa’ntered fort’, lookin’ dez ez innercent ez wunner yo’ mammy’s mockin’-birds.

“‘Howdy, Brer Rabbit,’ sez Brer Fox, sezee. ‘You look sorter stuck up dis mawnin’,’ sezee, en den he rolled on de groun’, en laft en laft twel he couldn’t laff no mo’. ‘I speck you’ll take dinner wid me dis time, Brer Rabbit. I done laid in some calamus root, en I ain’t gwineter take no skuse,’ sez Brer Fox, sezee.”

Here Uncle Remus paused, and drew a two-pound yam out of the ashes.

“Did the fox eat the rabbit?” asked the little boy to whom the story had been told.

“Dat’s all de fur de tale goes,” replied the old man. “He mout, an den agin he moutent. Some say Judge B’ar come ’long en loosed ’im—some say he didn’t. I hear Miss Sally callin’. You better run ’long.”

Patriot’s Flag Note: Like dat tar baby, dat ol’ mosque propty it jis sits dere and says nuttin, it jis watches. If deys fo it or if deys ‘genst it, deys gits stuck da same. But Ol’ Brer ‘Bama an Sisr p’losi an a whol bunca uder folks, dey all keeps ona yellin’ ’bout it and dey all keeps gettin’ it stuck to ‘em mo’ ‘n mo’. Brer ‘Bama he even gots a fist n’ a foot stuck to it now. Kinda’ like ‘ol Brer Rabbit ‘n dat uder tar baby s’long ‘go. As da autor o dis blog, I duz spectate dat Tar Baby Mosque’s gonna’ have more politicians stuck to it than fleas on an ol’ hound. Deys all gonna’ own a piece of it in da’ end. An dat tar be tuf to rub off.

Jis fer fun, Les count da fleas …

Da’ List

I be fo’ dat Mosque, leave it be

I be agin’ dat Mosaque, move it ‘way

I ain’s sayin’ nuttin’ bout dat Mosque

I likes it but den agin, I don

(If I “miss” a flea, drop me a note)

The Bottom Line

The “fallout” is expanding: It’s not just about the Mosque any more, now it is about Obama’s personal religion coming into question and Peolsi’s sanity.  No matter what Obama says … he gets “stuck” more to the controversy, not matter what Pelosi says (now she’s doubled down) she is associating herself with something 75% of the American Public DO NOT AGREE WITH.  Ah, but keep swinging away folks, that’s why the tar baby is “there.”

“So what’s all this racist stuff you are putting on your blog, Doug? ” Ah spoken probably by one of 90% of the people who were never blessed to have a parent read them small treasures, written by Joel Chandler Harris, when they were a child.  These  little stories were read to us over and over, and the lessons they left on our minds are strong-enough to be remembered for a lifetime … I’m living proof, I remembered this one almost three-quarters of a century later!  So we are talking about powerful lessons, but alas lessons today’s politicians either never studied or simply forgot. The “dialect” is a little hard to read, but if you “say it” rather than “read it” … you get the feeling that Ol’ Uncle Remus is in the room with you.

The best source of these little stories I’ve found are at the Uncle Remus Bookstore. They have 35 stories there, and many of you, who have never encountered Uncle Remus should take JUST A MOMENT and go there and read at least one.  Look “into” it for the lesson … it’s as deep as Alice in Wonderland and thoroughly enjoyable to read.  Give yourself a moment from politics and oil wells and birth certificates  and mosques … and just spend a few minutes there reading some of the rich tales from Uncle Remus. For me it was like meeting and “ol’ fren.” And the lessons still apply today … clearer lessons from a simpler time.

(And, yes, I used this theme before with the Oil Rig … it is amazing how the “lesson” keeps coming up to be learned again … but will they ever learn?)

Blago and Obama

July 17th, 2010

Did Obama and Blagojevich have a discussion about the Senate Seat in Illinois? We will probably never know. To “know” would mean we would have to be privy to the “inside track” of Chicago politics … a circle where we, as outsiders, are not welcome, and a circle in which a form of Omerta exists. The political danger is not an “old-time hit” … you just get “thrown under the bus.” Same result … “fino!” It is done quickly, seemingly with little effort … but it is done. Here’s how you do it …

Obama’s Key Statement:
“Well, one question: “I had no contact with the governor or his office, so I was not aware of what was happening.”

This statement in the “circulated email” cannot be confirmed:

Barack Obama Supposedly Said: “I only saw Rod Blagojevich one time … and that was in the stands and from a distance at a Chicago  Bears Football Game.”

  • So be careful with the “email” you might receive showing these pictures and attributing them to the [probably] false statement above.

Axelrod said there was a discussion:

Axelrod said, “I know he’s talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.”

We can establish a Personal Relationship: However, we can surmise quickly from the pictures that there was a personal relationship between Obama and Blagojevich.  With the overall lack of credibility of both men, it is easy for one to surmise they [probably] talked about the Senate seat.  Denying that any such conversation took place is difficult for most people to swallow when they dare to fathom Chicago politics and see actual pictures of a “distanced” relationship.

Let’s allow the pictures to do the “talking:”

Do you think they “knew” each other well-enough to have a “discussion” about the Senate seat?  Pictures are worth thousands of words, so I’ll say no more here.

Dispersants and the Piper

June 10th, 2010

There are now two YouTube videos on the internet that have to do with the dispersant being used associated with the potential one world order and depopulation of the world by polluting the sea. Just as aggravating is the news media discussing the “danger” of “adding chemicals to the ocean.” But worse than these are people who believe this Enviro-Babble because they basically are as ignorant (as Obama) about the technology being used.  These are the people who will follow any Pied Piper of Doom without a second thought about the lies spread by the catchy tune. When you see these  conversations show up in your email and on your TV, watch if you will, but watch only if you are fully armed with facts, and that is the purpose of this post. Don’t follow another Pied Piper over another hoax-ridden environmental cliff. Too many people already have a “lemming” attitude trained into them with “Man Made Global Warming” …  I must wonder, will they fall for a similar tune twice?

Want to know “why?  Read on!

Studio B and Shep “I-became-a- star-with-Katrina” Smith. Yesterday, they had a piece on Studio B where Smith was interviewing a S.C.U.B.A. diver (admitting  he was only a diver/journalist and not technically proficient) who dove into an oil slick (picture to left, wonder if he “see’s oil?). Now that takes some real brains. Even the fish avoid that out in the open water.   If you heard the piece, you also heard them discuss the “frightening green haze” that was seen below the surface of the slick. (And if you looked closely at the video, you’ll see fish swimming around in the green haze, what’s with that?). Remember, it was Shepard Smith who brought you Katrina with all his hype. You’ve heard this Pied Piper’s  tune before, folks.

Click on Image for Clearer View

Let’s talk dispersants. I’m not only familiar with dispersants I have personally applied them. Dispersants were developed in case there was an oil spill that we could not quickly control (exactly this scenario), or for a smaller spill to disperse the oil before it hit a wildlife preserve or caused some other ecological damage. If you look at the MSDS sheet (Material Safety Data Sheet) on Corexit (Nalco 9500), you’ll see it is chemically benign … you could practically drink it. Note the “name” is marketing slang for “corrects it.” It is all EPA cleared, and if you know anything about this process, you will know that takes years, hundreds of LD50 (kill-the-guppy) tests, etc. You don’t just “get clearance” because you know somebody. The EPA is naturally suspicious of chemicals So the dispersant is environmentally safe … doubt if if you want, but the DATA PROVES IT and that same data proved it to the skeptical EPA.  Here’s the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for Corexit, Nalco 9500). But most “environmentalists” fear Dihydrogen monoxide too: (Discussions of dangers and MSDS HERE).

How chemical dispersion works ITOPF

Natural dispersion of an oil slick occurs when waves and other turbulence at the sea surface cause all or part of the slick to break up into droplets and enter into the water column. The addition of dispersants is intended to accelerate this natural process.

Dispersants have two main components: a surfactant and a solvent. Surfactants molecules are made up of two parts: an oleophilic part (with an attraction to oil) and a hydrophilic part (with an attraction to water). When dispersants are sprayed onto an oil slick, the solvent will transport and distribute the surfactants through the oil slick to the oil/water interface where they arrange themselves so that the oleophilic part of the molecule is in the oil and the hydrophilic part is in the water. This creates a reduction in the surface tension at the oil/water interface and small oil droplets will break away from the oil slick with the help of wave energy. These droplets will be of varying sizes and although the larger ones may rise back to the surface some will remain in suspension and will drift apart and become degraded by naturally occurring bacteria. If dispersion is successful, a characteristic brown plume will spread slowly down from the water surface a few minutes after treatment. (Dark plumes and green haze anyone?)

The cybernetics of dispersant technology is actually pretty simple.  You mix it as well as you can with the oil, before sticky, thick, slicks are formed. The oil then, instead of becoming a slick, turns into mist-sized droplets in the water. If you watch the BP feeds, you’ll see a dispersant “wand” blowing dispersant into the oil plume … that is the best possible mixing zone, right at the source where there is great turbulence with the escaping gas bubbles aiding in the mixing process.  (Picture on right – Notice the white plume coming out of the small pipe … that’s the dispersant being fed to the point of maximum turbulence).  The second best way to add the dispersant is with aerial drops … this for widely scattered spill zones. Also, good old “wave action” can help by increasing turbulence. (The problem with wind is that it can blow the slicks toward shore, but wave action is good).  When the oil is “misted” into the tiny droplets, the result is the surface area of the potential oil slick is increased LITERALLY by billions. The whole idea of the dispersant is to increase the surface area making it available for oleophilic bacteria.

Enter the Oleophilics. Once you increase the surface area, you have increased the size of the dinner table for the Oleophilic (oil-loving) bacteria that NATURALLY consume oil.  There have been oil leaks in the Gulf of Mexico (and elsewhere in the world) for billions of years. When the earth shifts, rifts open up channels to the trapped reservoirs below.  Do you remember the report of “tar balls” in Florida … then the next day, it was retracted because those tar balls did not come from the Deepwater Horizon?  Tar Balls were on the Gulf beaches before man was! These things have always been on Gulf Beaches … granted not in the quantities being encountered today, but they are always there … the gulf naturally “leaks” oil.  And the reason the gulf is not covered with this oil is the presence of the oleophilic bacteria.  So the disperants literally emulsify the oil into the water. And in so doing, the bacteria grow in numbers because of the bonanza food source for them. The “green haze?” It is bacterial growing under the slick. The fish in the green haze, they are going after the plankton that are eating the bacteria … food chain anyone?

Fact Pages:

Some microorganism of the genera Nocardia and Pseudomonas can grow in the enviroment where the hydrocarbons are the only source of food. These bacteria oxidize straight chain aliphatic hydrocarbon such as octane to their corresponding carboxylic acids:

CH3(CH2)6CH3 +NAD+ O2——– CH3(CH2)6COOH + NADH + H+

Don’t worry about the solution to a problem, just blame anything in sight … But instead of people “discovering” this information on their own (and it is all available with a simple Google search) they would rather listen to the tune of the next Pied Piper of disaster.  I guess fantasy trumps truth.

And every time Obama discusses the oil spill, he gathers ownership of the problem:

Brer Obama and the Oil Spill

Bottom Line

Ignorance is the problem. But even the “conservatives” on the right fall for the piper’s tune. So many, even on Free Republic, quickly take up the “Koz” against the big, bad chemical companies that are killing the oceans.  This kind of ignorance is perpetuated all the way up the “food chain” to the Oval office. I’ll give you an example. Look at this “mess” we find ourselves in now. We have an incompetent posing the “leader of the free world” because people were ignorant. We have a person who voters gave the duty to answering the 3 am call … and he wouldn’t have a clue what to do if it rang (and is has rung!).  All you had to do was a little study and digging before the election to discover this guy was incompetent. He had no experience, nobody knew where he came from, and frankly, you’ve never saw a more twisted family tree.  This man cannot even prove he was born!

But the dumb masses voted for him  anyway … following the catchy Pied Piper tune of “hope and change.”  Now look where following this tune has gotten us. Trillions in debt, USA safety “lucky” twice because of incompetent bombers, Socialized Medicine, Government jobs having a huge growth rate, the private sector jobs stumbling into economic disparity with a “reported” 10% unemployment (that we are told now is the “new standard.” Ignorance got us here!

Yet ignorance continues to abound. If you don’t know what you are talking about, then shut up and listen to those who do, get yourself educated!

Imagine what would happen if Nalco (Corexit) and BP simply shut down their operations and left the gulf oil spill up to Hollywood and Obama. Hey, how tough can it be, all you have to do is “plug the damned hole” and “kick some ass” … piece of cake, problem solved!

But when the media and this incompetent bunch of people we have now “leading”  try to  politically cripple the ONLY GAME IN TOWN (chemical dispersants), this becomes a conspiracy and an environmental death wish in itself … don’t be a part of it.  If you cannot add to the solution of this problem, then you are only adding “white noise” that interferes with problem’s eventual solution. Either enlighten yourself or follow the tune of the new Pied Piper over the same environmental cliff of ignorance … your choice.

My recent “comment” on the Free Republic on the thread about Obama saying he spoke with experts “to know who’s ass to kick.”

If you want to PROVE you are a ROOKIE at Crisis Management, this is exactly the way to do it. If you’ve ever been in a big crisis (and I have), you NEVER start pointing fingers and threatening to kick ass. You focus on blaming the PROCESS, NEVER the PEOPLE … people are almost NEVER to blame anyway, the processes fail. By getting everyone focused on fixing the process, you have 100% of your team working on the potential solution. Threatening to kick ass only STOPS the team dynamics dead in their tracks. Also when you speak about going to “kick ass” … you are admitting you don’t understand the underlying process that failed. I knew he was a rookie at this stuff (I always feared the 3am call would come … and it did!).

My advice to BP … pass out ear plugs to cut down on this administration’s  “white noise” so you don’t defocus the team.

These well-meaning ideologues are dangerous to the USA!  All they know how to do is “blame” … they have NO IDEAS to solve this problem.  So my advice to this administration… lead, shut up or just get out of the way! My advice to voters … for your own well-being stop following the “latest” Pied Piper and start doing your homework to UNDERSTAND what is happening around you!  You are going to get one last chance to “Corexit” (Correct it) this coming November … educate yourself before you vote this time!  No more Pied Pipers!

UPDATE: Bacteria Have Consumed Oil Plumes, Scientists Say (ABC – 08.01.10)

Where could the undersea oil have gone? Today, many scientists across the Gulf Coast pointed to the same explanation — deep sea bacteria called psychrophiles that have consumed the oil faster than anyone expected. The bacteria occur naturally in the waters of the Gulf, and when there’s more oil present, they multiply to eat it.

“When a large amount of oil comes into the environment, then they quickly muster, if you will, and they can sometimes grow to 1,000-fold,” said Jay Grimes, a professor of microbiology at the University of Southern Mississippi.

“They’ve been there for millions of years because of the fact that, for millions of years, we’ve had a large amount of natural oil seeping into the floor of the ocean,” Grimes added.

UPDATE FROM ABC NEWS 07.26.10: For 86 days, oil spewed into the Gulf of Mexico from BP’s damaged well, dumping some 200 million gallons of crude into sensitive ecosystems. BP and the federal government have amassed an army to clean the oil up, but there’s one problem — they’re having trouble finding it.

Today, ABC News surveyed a marsh area and found none, and even on a flight out to the rig site Sunday with the Coast Guard, there was no oil to be seen. The numbers don’t lie: two weeks ago, skimmers picked up about 25,000 barrels of oily water. Last Thursday, they gathered just 200 barrels. Still, it doesn’t mean that all the oil that gushed for weeks is gone. Thousands of small oil patches remain below the surface, but experts say an astonishing amount has disappeared, reabsorbed into the environment. “[It's] mother nature doing her job,” said Ed Overton, a professor of environmental studies at Louisiana State University.

UPDATE FROM WASHINGTON POST 07.27.10 - Oil from the BP blowout is degrading rapidly in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and becoming increasingly difficult to find on the water surface, the head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Tuesday. “The light crude oil is biodegrading quickly,” NOAA director Jane Lubchenco said during the response team daily briefing. “We know that a significant amount of the oil has dispersed and been biodegraded by naturally occurring bacteria.”

“The sheer volume of oil that’s out there has to mean there are some pretty significant impacts,” she said. “What we have yet to determine is the full impact the oil will have not just on the shoreline, not just on wildlife, but beneath the surface.” But much of the oil appears to have been broken down into tiny, microscopic particles that are being consumed by bacteria. Little or none of the oil is on seafloor, she said, but is instead floating in the gulf waters.

UPDATE from Fox News 08.24.10 : A newly discovered type of oil-eating microbe is suddenly flourishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Scientists discovered the new microbe while studying the underwater dispersion of millions of gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf following the explosion of BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling rig. And the microbe works without significantly depleting oxygen in the water, researchers led by Terry Hazen at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, Calif., reported Tuesday in the online journal Sciencexpress. “Our findings, which provide the first data ever on microbial activity from a deepwater dispersed oil plume, suggest” a great potential for bacteria to help dispose of oil plumes in the deep-sea, Hazen said in a statement.

Now they cannot find the Crude … it has disappeared … I’ll be darned!

Told you so! (Don’t doubt me!)

EPA’s National Contingency Plan

June 3rd, 2010

Today I am flying the Fort Moultrie Patriot Flag.  The Environmental Protection Agency has a National Contingency Plan for handling disastrous oil spills like the one being encountered in the Gulf of Mexico today.  There is a complete “manual” for the EPA’s National Contingency Plan and it tells us exactly how they are going to respond in an emergency.  Yes, an emergency just like the one we are encountering in the Gulf today. The only problem with this “plan” is, none of what is in the plan is happening. Once again, millions spent on an agency for contingency planning … and no “process” to execute the plan. Typical of the government in Washington, DC. Here are some of the highlights of the plan, Have you seen any of this happen?

  • WHEN A MAJOR oil spill occurs in the United States, coordinated teams of local, state, and national personnel are called upon to help contain the spill, clean it up, and ensure that damage to human health and the environment is minimized. Without careful planning and clear organization, efforts to deal with large oil spills could be slow, ineffective, and potentially harmful to response personnel and the environment. In the United States, the system for organizing responses to major oil spills is called the National Response System.
  • AFTER THE PLAN is developed, it is important to test it to see if it works as anticipated. Testing usually takes the form of an exercise or drill to practice responding to a spill.
  • Direct planning and preparedness responsibilities of NRT [national Response team] include: (1) Maintaining national preparedness to respond to a major discharge of oil that is beyond regional capabilities.

Here is the original language from the manual: 40cfr300.3 Scope.

(a) The NCP applies to and is in effect for:

(1) Discharges of oil into or on the navigable waters of the United States, on the adjoining shorelines, the waters of the contiguous zone, into waters of the exclusive economic zone, or that may affect natural resources belonging to, appertaining to, or under the exclusive management authority of the United States (See sections 311(c)(1) and 502(7) of the CWA).
(2) Releases into the environment of hazardous substances, and pollutants or contaminants which may present an
imminent and substantial danger to public health or welfare of the United States.

(b) The NCP provides for efficient, coordinated, and effective response to discharges of oil and releases of hazardous substances, pollutants, and contaminants in accordance with the authorities of CERCLA and the CWA. It provides for:

(1) The national response organization that may be activated in response actions. It specifies responsibilities among the federal, state, and local governments and describes resources that are available for response.

(2) The establishment of requirements for federal, regional, and area contingency plans. It also summarizes state and local emergency planning requirements under SARA Title III.

(3) Procedures for undertaking removal actions pursuant to section 311 of the CWA.

(4) Procedures for undertaking response actions pursuant to CERCLA.

(5) Procedures for involving state governments in the initiation, development, selection, and implementation of response actions, pursuant to CERCLA.

(6) Listing of federal trustees for natural resources for purposes of CERCLA and the CWA.

(7) Procedures for the participation of other persons in response actions.

(8) Procedures for compiling and making available an administrative record for response actions.

(9) National procedures for the use of dispersants and other chemicals in removals under the CWA and response actions under CERCLA.

(c) In implementing the NCP, consideration shall be given to international assistance plans and agreements, security regulations and responsibilities based on international agreements, federal statutes, and executive orders. Actions taken pursuant to the provisions of any applicable international joint contingency plans shall be consistent with the NCP, to the greatest extent possible. The Department of State shall be consulted, as appropriate, prior to taking any action which may affect its activities.

(d) Additionally, the NCP applies to and is in effect when the Federal Response Plan and some or all its Emergency Support Functions (ESFs) are activated.

These are direct quotes from the Manual for the National Contingency Plan, created and maintained by the EPA. The statement “says” they are prepared.  Did you see any of this happen?  This is a perfect example of well-intended “words” that obviously have no meaning.  What a waste of our tax dollars to support a fraud such as this!

An “owner’s manual” doesn’t do you much good after the wreck!

Bottom Line

S.T.O.P the EPA

This is THE PERFECT EXAMPLE of Government in-Action. All words, all rhetoric, all “well-meaning” and meant to make the dumb masses feel safe and secure.  Did you see any of this plan executed during the recent catastrophe in the Gulf?  How much money (TAX DOLLARS!)  was spent on the “national preparedness” that didn’t happen.? How many government employees at EPA did it take to write the manual? How many people are now being paid to be “vigilant” and “respond?” What a waste of money!

The next time you hear that “BP wasn’t prepared” … remind those people … neither was the US Government which YOU AND I have PAID FOR to BE PREPARED!  You now know the name of the “proof”:

The EPA’s National Contingency Plan

I am sure there will be a law suit against BPhow about a law suit against the EPA to get our money back for a job they only “talked” about and didn’t “do?” You want an investigation? How about investigating why the EPA was totally unprepared for this catastrophe? Also, why throw more money at these government bureaucrats that sit around and “write plans” that have not methodology for execution?

Now these same people want to solve a CO2 problem that is based on a hoax … all for enriching themselves with more of our tax dollars and sending our great nation into economic hell. Wake up America, you are the brunt of an elaborate joke called the EPA … a tool for the Socialist Regime now in control of the USA.
